<image:caption>Where are you from? I am 4th generation explorer, salty sea dog, lighthouse keeper, boat builder, shack dwelling Tasmanian. What do you love about being Tasmanian? I love the sense of peace, the slow pace, the safe feeling of familiarity, but the excitement that there is still much I have yet to uncover of this beautiful island. Favourite place in Tasmania? My little off grid shack on the north east coast, that gives me access to the best beaches in the world, with no one else on them. Favourite Experiential Tasmania experience to share with guests? The reaction of every guest that hasn’t experienced Freycinet beyond Coles Bay on the Freycinet Walking Tour. There is something spiritual beyond the Hazards that is so uniquely Tasmanian. Memorable moment on tour? On a beautiful Autumn’s day, I was lucky enough to guide 2 interstate guests (that had all their wedding plans cancelled due to COVID) to the top of Mt.Murchison to say ‘I do.’ The entire day was something I’ll always feel so blessed to be a part of. You only get this type of memory as a guide for Experiential Tasmania.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Where are you from? Born and bred in Launceston, Tasmania What do you love about being Tasmanian? Gosh, everything! I love the slow pace of Tasmanian life. I love being able to jump in my car after I knock off work in Launceston and go somewhere wild for a bushwalk. I love the incredible produce and how much it’s celebrated by locals. There’s no where else I’d rather be. Favourite place in Tasmania? Anywhere lush and mountainous has my heart. I grew up spending a lot of time in the Central Highlands, so I feel at home up there. South West is pretty special too. Personal highlight of the Freycinet Walking Tour? I actually really love the Isthmus Track! The bird song through the coastal woodland is beautiful. And the frogs in Hazards Lagoon sound so happy. I also just really love being out in nature meeting people from all walks of life and sharing my many local Tassie tips! I regularly finish tours feeling like I’ve just made awesome new friends- which is pretty special! Memorable moment on tour? Seeing wildlife is always a buzz. I remember one of my first tours, we were having morning tea at Wineglass Bay and a pod of dolphins put on a show for us! Also finding a wombat after following tracks down the beach in the sand. I always feel so lucky to be out in nature for work, sharing the space with our incredible local wildlife.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Where are you from? I've lived in this beautiful state most of my life. With a few stints over seas and on the mainland. What do you love about being Tasmanian? The cold weather, the beautiful scenery. The uncrowded beaches. There's a lot to love about being Tasmanian but the proximity to nature would have to be the best. Favourite place in Tasmania? The Walls of Jerusalem. Memorable moment on tour? Swimming with dolphins at Honeymoon Bay on the Freycinet Walking Tour.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Where are you from? I am a true Tassie Girl; I grew up just 45 minutes away from Hobart in a small sea side community. My childhood consisted of long days wandering and exploring the bush and river that surrounded my house, later on stretching further afield. What do you love about being Tasmanian? My favourite part of being Tasmanian is that feeling of connection between people and place. You are never very far from an adventure or a friendly face. Favourite place in Tasmania? I have many favourite places, but one dear to my heart is Mount Wellington in Hobart. It holds many fond memories such as snow days as a child, with a snow man balanced on my parent’s bonnet for the ride down the mountain. Also spending nights camping under the stars in the secret huts scattered across the area. Personal highlight of the Freycinet Walking Tour? Freycinet is particularly special to me as it was one of the first places I went as a child. I feel privileged to lead others on a path my father helped build, with my favourite being a section of duck boarding on the Isthmus Track that is the same age as me and with a story to be told. Memorable moment on tour? The first was having the privilege of accompanying a gentleman in his late 70s on his first ever bush walk, and seeing the look of pure glee and sense of achievement when he finished. The second was a wild days walking with an adventurous young couple and 200ml of rain! We walked sections in calf deep water and hundreds of baby frogs.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Where are you from? From Devonport, born and bred. I still live in the town where I was born and have never moved away. It ticks all the boxes for me. What do you love about being Tasmanian? It has a great backyard from the remote South West and national parks. The food is great, the weather is fantastic, not too hot or cold. The diversity in wildlife and plants, I love our native orchids. Everything is relatively close and you don't have to go too far to enjoy the bush without the crowds. Favourite place in Tasmania? That is a tough one. Anywhere in Tasmania pretty much. But Schouten island, Walls of Jerusalem and Bathurst harbour. Personal highlight of the Freycinet Walking Tour? The Wineglass Bay Lookout, the view is fantastic no matter what the weather. Also the joy from the guests making it to the lookout and the joy they have in soaking up the scenery. Memorable moment on tour? I think it would be seeing thousands of Spider crabs in the water as one big mass while they are moulting, just after being picked up by the Freycinet Aqua taxi.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Where are you from? I grew up on the North West Coast of Tasmania in a small agricultural town called Smithton. It's well known for its excellent oysters and is the beginning of the incredibly magical and ancient temperate rainforest, the Tarkine. What do you love about being Tasmanian? Nature. I feel so blessed with the diverse natural landscape within Tasmania. You don't have to travel far to go from a temperate rainforest where it rains most days of the year, to white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters. I also love the communities here - people are super friendly. Favourite place in Tasmania? I honestly can't separate one favourite place from another- the whole island is my favourite place! I love the West Coast rainforests for its pure wilderness, raw beauty, and rugged coastlines. Equally, the East Coast holds a special place in my heart with the beautiful beaches, the striking Hazards mountains that emerge from the water, the mountain bike trails, and the lovely little cafés. I also love the South of Tasmania. In Hobart I love the food, the people, the culture and art. And of course, central Tasmania. Between Cradle Mountain, the Central Plateau, and the Great Lakes, there is endless beauty and much to explore. Personal highlight of the Freycinet Walking Tour? I love having the opportunity to share this special part of the world with people and share my personal connection to Tasmania and Freycinet. I absolutely love the walk - no two tours are the same. I thrive on being outside, hearing the bird calls, seeing the flora change throughout the seasons, and learning more about the area from others. Memorable moment on tour? On almost every walk, we see at least one pair of pied oystercatchers. They love hanging out in pairs. I was filled with excitement when one morning we arrived at Wineglass Bay and noticed a tiny baby oystercatcher - it was so fluffy and it was precious to see them following their mother around.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Where are you from? I grew up on the beautiful South East Coast of Tasmania in Oyster Cove and spent my childhood exploring the forests and beaches of this beautiful island. What do you love about being Tasmanian? I love being surrounded by nature, the ocean and friendly faces. The smell of salt, cold fresh air and bonfire smoke in winter makes me feel at home. Being able to climb to the top of a mountain where the whole world goes quiet and sleep beside the waves in one day is a truly special part of Tasmania. Favourite place in Tasmania? Lake Rhona with its magical sunrises and magnificent rock formations or the remote beaches at the Bay of Fires where the stars are absolutely mesmerising. Personal highlight of the Freycinet Walking Tour? The incredible conversations with people from all walks of life; I always come away from tours with a full heart. As a swimming enthusiast, I love encouraging people to jump in the water at the end of Hazards Beach and seeing their giddy smiles emerging from the water. Memorable moment on tour? When a lovely family came on a tour with me and were awestruck by the texture and composition of Bull Kelp. It was amazing seeing their excitement and fascination about this organism and its biological and cultural history. Also when we were fortunate enough to spot some fur seals basking on the rocks!</image:caption>

<image:title>Reviews - “Experiential Tasmania was recommended to me for transporting our group of 12 to meet up with Tasmanian Walking Company for our 6 day Cradle Overland Walk and for our return after the walk. Sara and James were exceptional in their friendly helpful and professional manner. Nothing was too much trouble. James is a wonderful driver and very knowledgeable about the Overland. Sara was very efficient in organising details for our trip. We would all highly recommend their business.”</image:title>

<image:title>Taste the Tamar - There are whispers in the vines about a fresh new face on the Tasmanian wine scene. Allow us to introduce you to UTZINGER.</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2015, Swiss winemaker Matthias was traversing the globe, searching for the perfect place to establish his own vineyard. Fortunately for us, he met Lauren and followed her back to her heart-shaped island home. In 2018, here in Tasmania, Utzinger was born. Matthias and Lauren, following the philosophy of 'maximum care, minimum intervention', planted their first vines along the fertile banks of the Tamar River. The result? A sensational product, of which you'll want to savour every sip. Join us as we indulge in an exclusive and intimate 'Tour and Tasting' experience.</image:caption>

<image:title>Taste the Tamar - Over the hill and not too far away, our next stop is the Stoney Rise Wine Company. Joe and Lou Holyman have the reputation of being among Tasmania’s best wine producers – you’ll soon see why!</image:title>
<image:caption>Joe grew up among the vines here in Tasmania; his family have been in the industry since the 80’s. He met Lou while working in vineyards on South Australia’s beautiful Limestone Coast. However, when they stumbled upon a Tassie vineyard for sale in 2004, the lure of the Apple Isle proved to be too strong to resist. While Joe spends most of his time in the vineyard, Lou’s is the warm and welcoming face we’ll find at their brand-new cellar door. Designed by local architect ‘Cumulus’, the cellar door gazes out over the estate and the meandering Tamar River beyond. Here Lou will talk us through a tutored tasting as we uncover the complex layers of personality in each wine.</image:caption>

<image:title>Taste the Tamar - Hopefully by now you're hungry! Let's crack open the doors to Timbre Kitchen, where the aromas of woodfire cooking hint at the sensory journey that is yet to come.</image:title>
<image:caption>Here, Matt Adams is both the owner and the head chef. He and his team deliver a creative menu, perfectly paired with a relaxed dining experience. Their food is contemporary and unique; yet subtle and homely, and delivered with superior service. Matt prefers to use seasonal produce from local Tamar Valley producers and backyard gardeners, meaning that Timbre’s progressive menu is ever evolving. Enjoy this rare opportunity to taste all the flavours of the Tamar, paired with a complimentary glass of Velo wine, before we reluctantly return you to Launceston.</image:caption>

From grape to glass, Clover Hill’s sparkling is equal parts uncompromising quality and refined elegance. You’ll learn the philosophy that defines this prestigious label on an intimate vineyard tour, before retreating to the award-winning cellar door for a masterclass and guided tasting of their entire portfolio. <image:title>Beyond the Barrel - A short drive through some of Tasmania’s picturesque back roads take us to Sinapius, a quaint vineyard with four hectares of sun-drenched vines.</image:title>
<image:caption>Sinapius has been loved and nurtured by Tasmanian couple Linda and Vaughn, who chose to follow a simple, hands-on winemaking and vineyard philosophy. After the sudden passing of Vaughn in 2020, Linda, their daughters and the close knit Sinapius family have continued to produce some of Tasmania’s most recognised wines as his legacy. In their gorgeous, leafy cellar door, the team invites you to enjoy an intimate tasting of their expressive portfolio.</image:caption>

<image:title>Beyond the Barrel - The salty sea air draws us to the coast for our final stop of the day. Here in the tiny, windswept town of Tam O’Shanter, we will introduce you to Tasmanian whisky at its finest.</image:title>
<image:caption>Welcome to the simple splendour of Fanny’s Bay Distillery. Hear firsthand the story of how Mathew and Julie Cooper went from retired couple to award winning whisky producers. Their ‘liquid gold’ is now exported to high end restaurants and exclusive resorts across the world. Experience it for yourself, during a laid-back tasting (with complementary Tasmanian dark chocolate) in this humble seaside distillery. <image:title>Rosevears Corner - Like so many great businesses, this producers story began with an inspired conversation over a cold drink.</image:title>
<image:caption>Caroline's father and husband Chris found a mutual love of the humble Tassie apple. In particular, the process of turning the island's favourite fruit into cider. With a backyard full apples and great enthusiasm, Chris and Caroline began experimenting with the process of fermenting their crop into bubbly liquid gold. Fast forward a decade, the dynamic duo grow 83 varieties of apple and produce a range of delicious small-batch hand-crafted cider. Finding a balance between the pursuit of patience and an appreciation of the unique, their ciders reflect the fruit from the farm and emulate the ‘Royal Ciders’ of the 17th Century and the sparkling that Tasmania is globally renowned for. Join Caroline and/or Chris for a personalised tour and tasting at their by-appointment mill.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rosevears Corner - Located conveniently across the road is our next tasty stop. Our second chapter is with the team at Turner Stillhouse, who boast a whole lot of Tassie spirit (and a bag of awards to match).</image:title>
<image:caption>American Justin Turner, founder of Turner Stillhouse, met his Tasmanian wife while working in New York. Trading the hustle and bustle of the ‘big apple' for her beloved apple isle, Justin soon unearthed the unexpected world of premium food, wine and spirits here in Tasmania. With Northern Californian winemaking and brandy distilling parents, Justin possessed an interest in crafting and distilling from a young age. So when the opportunity presented to distill on the banks of the Tamar River, he knew this was the project he was ready to sink his teeth into. Since then, local Brett Coulson has joined the team as lead distiller and their Three Cuts Gin range has won a multitude of domestic and international awards (including Best Australian Gin at the 2021 Australian Gin Awards), as their highly anticipated whisky ages patiently in barrels. Join Justin or Brett on a private tour and tasting of their impressive warehouse style distillery.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rosevears Corner - With a hop, skip and a jump, you'll find yourself at our final stop for the day. Our afternoon together concludes with one of Tasmania’s leaders in cool climate wines. And an absolute must stop for Pinot Noir lovers!</image:title>
<image:caption>Tamar Ridge's first vines were planted on the rolling banks of the Tamar River back in 1994, with a long term vision of making the 'most elegant and exciting Pinot Noir in the world.' With a passion for creating expressive and premium wines that honour this special part of Tasmania, Tamar Ridge (owned by Brown Brothers since 2010) consistently deliver exceptional vintages year on year. On arrival at their cellar door, relax into their sunny inviting space overlooking the Tamar River for a seated guided tasting and local cheese platter before returning to Launceston.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Pipers Traditional - Our first stop today is “The Ridge”. Situated in the foothills of majestic Mt. Arthur, this is Tasmania’s highest vineyard, where owners Harry and Susie boast of turning mountain air into wine – and what’s not to love about that!</image:title>
<image:caption>Susie has deep family connections to this region – her grandfather pioneered the first lavender fields here in 1923, due to the “French” climate. 90 years later, Susie and Harry felt the pull to return to Tasmania, and began their endeavours into another French industry, planting their first vines in the summer of 2013. Just a few years later in 2017, they were awarded the title of “Best Small Vineyard in Tasmania.” When they’re not busy turning mountain air into wine, Harry (A rockstar with a Harvard law degree) can be found jamming with his band, whist Susie can be found with a brush in hand, painting landscapes of her idyllic surrounds or scenes from adventures further afield. Experience their “Altitude + Latitude + Attitude” philosophy on a progressive walking and tasting tour around their by appointment property and cellar door.</image:caption>

<image:title>The Pipers Traditional - The sparkling times continue as we make our way to our second stop of the day. One of Tasmania’s most celebrated sparkling producers, Clover Hill have been crafting exceptional sparkling since their first vintage in 1991.</image:title>
<image:caption>From grape to glass, Clover Hill’s sparkling is equal parts uncompromising quality and refined elegance. You’ll learn the philosophy that defines this prestigious label on an intimate tasting masterclass of their entire portfolio, seated in the grandeur of their award-winning cellar door. What follows is a feast to elevate your sensory journey. Enjoy a multi course dining experience to enhance the Clover Hill range, featuring locally sourced produce from this rich food bowl region.** You’ll also be offered a complimentary glass of preferred wine from your tasting, exclusive to Experiential Tasmania guests. This truly is a premier tasting experience. **Multi-course dining experience on weekends only. Cheese platter available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.</image:caption>

<image:title>Best of Bicheno - Welcome to Bicheno! It’s time to find our bearings like seafarers of old at the top of Whalers Lookout.</image:title>
<image:caption>Perched high above Bicheno, a short ascent will lead us to two platforms offering breathtaking ocean and mountain views. But can you spot a migrating whale? Learn about Bicheno’s coastal history while absorbing this special location. Next, we make our way to the iconic Bicheno Blowhole: a sea cave carved by nature into the granite rock which now thrills and entertains with its salt water eruptions. Leaving this force of nature behind, we meander along the coastal path and allow ourselves to breathe in the salt air, learn about the coastal flora and fauna and take in the views. All the while, let your appetite grow as we head towards the next delicious stop.</image:caption>

<image:title>Best of Bicheno - Lobster Shack Tasmania’s Sara and Marcus Walkem both have seafood in their DNA and salt water in their veins.</image:title>
<image:caption>Both from Tasmanian seafood and fishing families, the couple opened Lobster Shack Tasmania in 2017 to give locals and visitors alike access to premium, local seafood. Sourced from the cool, clean waters of Tasmania, learn about the life cycle of the world-renowned southern rock lobsters and access a private tour of the farmgate with Sara or Marcus. Head out to the deck for one of Australia’s most stunning lunch locations while you enjoy a seafood meal including the opportunity to dine on lobster or perhaps one of the famous Bicheno lobster rolls. Get up close and personal with devils, quolls, wombats or other unique Australian animals and of course feed the friendly ‘roos! Make sure your camera is charged, this is an experience you will want to capture. <image:title>Best of Bicheno - The vines are calling and it’s time to wind down and relax at our final stop of the day at Harvey Vin, a winery in the centre of Bicheno.</image:title>
<image:caption>Harvey Vin is a boutique vineyard established in 2007. With only 750 vines the focus here is on quality not quantity and the result is a selection of excellent Tassie cool climate wines.
